Now that I've caught up on ironing, my mending pile is next! I realized the last few years of nursing that it was helpful to have my outfits put together for the week, but rarely have done it otherwise, unless it's a special occasion. I'm sure it would be helpful if I did, though.Lauriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01156180100389224114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-14695872469809025402017-01-16T23:20:07.784-05:002017-01-16T23:20:07.784-05:00I had to laugh at your comment about flat hair. I ...I had to laugh at your comment about flat hair. I have a "cowlick" on the back of my head, that no matter how much i mousse, spray, and brush within about 5 minutes i have a part and flat hair again. I always wash it before I go out and the same old thing. Even when i had my hair permed I had that same part. I think it might be because i always wore braids as a child and the hair refuses to change. I finally decided to be just thankful that i have hair and let it be. Most of the rest of me looks presentable most of the time. I only have one friend who is so concerned about her appearance that if I see her in the grocery i duck down the next aisle once in a while.I am not theconly friend who does this. Our town is pretty laid back so jeans are pretty acceptable most places. Winter here cute sweatshirts are just about a must. My winter wardrobe is mostly slacks and nice aweaters. I stick to the same colour pallet of red, navy, straw and white. If I am looking at a shirt it needs to go with at least three other pieces. This increases the number of outfits you can make up with the basics that you have. It also stops you from impulse buying a piece that goes with nothing.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06964345893499561504noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-91812745590646364892017-01-16T16:45:43.004-05:002017-01-16T16:45:43.004-05:00Off subject but did you all know that their is a n...Off subject but did you all know that their is a new Masterpiece series that started last night? It is 'Victoria". We will watch the first episode tonight on PBS through our Roku. It was on from 9-11 last night and we knew we could not stay up that late so we will watch a day behind. Reviews have said it will be as good as Downton Abbey.

As much as I would love to always look so put together, I have to confess that I am good with a nice pair of jeans and shirt most days. I usually just wear pearl earrings which go with everything. I suspect that I might be more motivated if my plus size clothes did not cost so much or if I was a 'shopper' which I am not. But, I am a stickler for clean glasses. I see every speck from the inside and it drives me nuts.Lanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09380649410508372279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-17703105487768941782017-01-16T15:08:50.579-05:002017-01-16T15:08:50.579-05:00Thank you for some excellent reminders!

You've reminded me I should check and do it more often, as what gets enough to bother me is probably well past what others can see on my glasses!

I confess that the Dowager Countess is one of my favorite characters - but I love to loathe her lady's maid. Danke really rubs me the wrong way. (Proof she's written and acted just right then, I suppose!)

I have a very small wardrobe, though I will have to expand a bit after we move, as we'll be back in the high desert after a few years in a low coastal area. I already needed some new t-shirts for spring thru fall layering, and summer there I'll need them even more. I have several knit shawls in my project queue for this year, which I now realize will work well for tossing over my shoulders in places with AC. I do have some night clothes that need mending - I should get on that!Melonie K.http://www.meloniek.comnoreply@blogger.com
