I know I am in one of those times right now. Living in a very windy state (Oklahoma - it's the first line of our state song), I get so used to the wind that it's odd not to have it on still days.

Thank you for posting that Kathi Wilson link. I've never heard of her but I LOVE that style of worship and that song ministered to my dry soul.

This weekend I saw, in my mind's eye, a "tsunami" for the 2nd time at church. And it was like God was showing me that as the wave goes out, it exposes things on the dry ground that need to be cleaned up. And that it's vital for me to let Him clean it up in preparation for the bigger wave coming with His presence into my life. So, needless to say, your writing about wind really struck a chord with me. And perhaps I just need to "get out in it" and let the wind blow me along and strip things bare and clean and new and beautiful in winter. :)Karlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07251936768042830801noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-39968085855440230952016-02-20T02:51:47.823-05:002016-02-20T02:51:47.823-05:00The wind didn't start here until around 6 p.m....The wind didn't start here until around 6 p.m. and the warm air come with it..61 degrees in Michigan is a blessing. I wish it could have come earlier so I could stand in it also ...it does wake you up!

Maybe soon we will start to hear the geese coming back probably in a month or so...it's been quiet without them.

Have a wonderful weekend! They brought warm air with them, so it was 77 degrees today. It felt colder than that to me, and something in the wind was stirring up my allergies. I had inside work to do today, but tonight I am wishing that I would have gone outside and found something to do. Now that it is dark, I am feeling like I somehow wasted a beautiful day. Tomorrow will be near 70, and I will be out and about then. By next week it will be in the 40's, and I will be wishing I would have spent more time outside in the warm sun and wild wind.

I always have trouble getting to sleep on windy nights when I hear the wind whistling and rushing around outside. It makes me feel uneasy. Last night I woke up from dreaming that someone was trying to break into the house. It was just the wind.

One of the most wistful sounds is the honking of geese as they fly over the house. It usually happens at dawn when I am snuggled in bed. I love that sound. susie @ persimmon moon cottagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01653330247272673990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-68187480965141273402016-02-19T22:30:41.051-05:002016-02-19T22:30:41.051-05:00I learned something. I guess not everyone can ! lol
I never tire of looking at the sky either. The sky is like a giant new spectacular painting every time you look up!! Each one you think is the prettiest you have ever seen..then the next time No, this one is the prettiest..then.... but then who could paint a prettier sky than God???
We took another diabetic class today and added to our knowledge. I found out I am not diabetic but will still also follow the better way of eating that we have learned. Hubby is still doing great in his numbers. My hero !
Yes the sights, sounds , smells and feel of being outside is wonderful. A great stress reducer and brings a genuine smile to our face and relaxation to our bodies. I sneak outside off and on each day no matter how busy I am... Even a few minutes will make a total difference in my mood. lol And amazing what you can do if you can in 5 minutes if you have chores to do outside. I love,.. really love to putter outside, rake or whatever. So any bit of that or even just picking a 12" x 12" patch of weeds is great! Just to be outside!! :-))) If while you are out there and see wildlife too!! What bonus !!! You hit the lottery!!!
I do not really like the high winds. Whipping round the house and making wolf like sounds all night. Blowing pine needles and their branches all over. 150 feet from the trees even ! I can't be out working very well when it is so strong. Yet I know the winds have their good points too and I like the clear air later and since I like to rake I sure do get a good workout raking later!!!!! I keep thinking that we could be gone from here before next winter and how much I will miss the lovely black skeletons of the trees against the sunset out my kitchen window each evening. We have not seen geese but I had a half down bluebirds in the back yard this week and also saw two male cardinals. The bluebirds never stay so they must be on their way somewhere. It always reminds me that the nesting boxes need to be cleaned out before long since they will have new inhabitants soon if we make them welcome. Nesting boxes, made by our children, they must go with us when we go from this place.Lanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09380649410508372279noreply@blogger.com
