Taylor was feeling better when Katie got her to her dad but Katie prefers her to be near her own doctor when she's not well. I don't much blame her on that score. Thank you for your well wishes for her!

I'll look for goat milk yogurt. I had wondered about goat milk to keep on hand for Caleb as well. I'll have to have a look around.

Dale, so good to hear from you! I have always wanted to see New England in autumn! I'll keep that in mind and try Caleb on a bit of aged cheddar when I have some on hand.terricheneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06865436021565986224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-59502924331216766782021-10-01T20:55:31.665-04:002021-10-01T20:55:31.665-04:00Hi Terri,
If you really want to give Caleb some ...Hi Terri,
If you really want to give Caleb some cheese an aged cheddar has been declared safe for lactose intolerance. Something about aging it breaks down the lactose. We are finally enjoying fall weather here in Vermont, seems late to have our cool down but it’s here, yay!
Have a great week. doe853https://www.blogger.com/profile/03417944604275614243noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-41999363745128096422021-09-25T20:17:29.581-04:002021-09-25T20:17:29.581-04:00Hope Taylor is feeling much better. The other night I was struggling with a problem and thought I'd sent it on its way but just couldn't let it go. I'd pray and there it was again. You handled your situation very well with your journaling and the lavender chamomile candle. Gotta look for one of those! Good ole hard work helps to put things to rights.

The autumn shadows are lovely. You had some heavenly sunshine while listening to the church service.

I try to roll my pie crust as thin as possible and still be able to handle it. Some days it handles like a charm, other days it's ready for the compost bin. ha!

We eat goat yogurt. The plant alternatives have too much sugar for our diets. Cherry braised beef...the Urban Farmer would love that. That slug just happened to be on the rim of the cup and I saw him even though it was partially dark. I've just put beer outdoors to hopefully draw them away from the orchids so I can bring them in and get them ready for the winter months.

Mable, Yes, I felt sure it would be cold by my standard already but note that you call it autumn. That's pretty much winter temps for us, lol. Katie nor any of the kids call their dad if they need us in an emergency, they call me. They know John's phone is usually set as vibrate only. I turn my own way down in the hopes that the occasional update to some website doesn't wake me. I suppose I could turn it up higher and leave in another room. Perhaps then only a sustained ring might wake me. But then again, that won't work because I use it as my alarm clock!terricheneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06865436021565986224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-31112370999339502402021-09-25T11:20:24.353-04:002021-09-25T11:20:24.353-04:00Terri, Was the slug in the bottom of your coffee ...Terri, Was the slug in the bottom of your coffee cup when you finished your coffee? I dread the ice of winter.

We do not bring our cell phones into the bedroom. I figure if someone dies, they will still be dead in the morning. I have terrible insomnia and if there is a crisis, I need to be as well rested as possible, which I will not be if I allow texts or calls to come in during the night.

THanks for talking about your meals. It often gives me an idea of something I could make.Mablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13889546378268171918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6959918163454225829.post-53104635486734506212021-09-24T15:12:36.467-04:002021-09-24T15:12:36.467-04:00First, I think my piecrust is thicker, like and ei...First, I think my piecrust is thicker, like and eighth of an inch.

I have found a bunch of bargains for Christmas and put them away. One of the cutest was a 6 pack of cars that are dinosaurs with pull back action about the size of my hand. They were like $10 marked down from maybe $25 on Amazon. I can hardly wait to see our 4 year old grandson's reaction to them. I just looked nd they are $12.99 today. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P5X2F4X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The picture does not do them justice. They are so cute and they could be divided into multiple gifts.

We were so far behind on errands that a good bit of our time this week was taken up on catching up. There were iBotta freebies at Walmart so we picked up those. Plus a fitted sheet because ours was done for and the top is fine. We still had not been to Sam's so we did that and also regular groceries. I had a $10 off on my account if we used Scan and Go at Sam's so we tried it and I doubt we will ever go through the registers again. It was crazy easy to just scan as things went in the cart and then click pay and show my phone on the way out the door. The highlight of our errands is always handing water out the car window to the homeless. Coming out of Walmart I handed a man a bottle and he told us that we could not have given him anything more valuable and then reached in the car window and shook both our hands. It made our day! (Yes, antibacterial wipes followed but we would not have missed shaking that man's hand for the world.)

A real sign of Fall here is outdoor free concerts in September. We had a blast last night at our small town's amphitheater. It was beach music and lots of people dancing and having a good time. One tall, thin, elegant silver haired couple were so enjoyable to watch since they really knew how to dance. All the seats face west so the entire sky was a gorgeous sunset as the sun was going down and then a large flock of geese flew over with the orange sky behind them. There was an audible 'OH!' from the crowd over the music. We left before the end because we were cold. The low last night was 49. It was 59 when we got home. There is another concert next week and I hope to go and I hope it is warmer!

Well, it rained most of the week here and we dodged the raindrops through all those errands so no painting was done. Hopefully progress can be made this weekend so we can get to the lake!Lanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09380649410508372279noreply@blogger.com
