Crock Pot General Tso Chicken

I don't have a photo of the chicken in the crock pot, just of the leftovers.  The recipe is essentially the one that Dee shared a couple of weeks ago for Sweet Chili Pineapple Chicken from the Brendid blog.  I could not find Sweet Chili Sauce.  Bess and I looked at two or three stores with no luck.  I opted to get the Archer Farms General Tso Sauce instead.  I was very pleased with the way the dish turned out.

Crock Pot General Tso Chicken

3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 bottle Archer Farms General Tso sauce

I put in the chicken breast and half the bottle of General Tso sauce.  Cook on high for 4-5 hours.

2 cups broccoli
2 cups snow peas
2 cups bell pepper chunks

About 45 minutes before you are ready to serve, dump in all the vegetables.  They will be crisp tender at time to serve.  This window allowed me to cook brown rice to go with the dish.

Just as an FYI - I try to avoid purchasing pre-made mixes when possible, so I was curious if one could easily make their own General Tsao's sauce. I found this recipe. It is simple and all ingredients are always in my pantry except the rice wine.
