Genesis 1:9 Then God said, "Let the waters beneath the sky flow together into one place, so dry ground may appear." And that is what happened. 10 God called the dry ground "land" and the waters "seas." 11 Then God said, "Let the land sprout with vegetation -- every sort of seed-bearing plant, and trees that grow seed-bearing fruit. These seeds will then produce the kinds of plants and trees from which they came." And that is what happened. 12 The land produced vegetation--all sorts of seed-bearing plants and trees with seed-bearing fruit. Their seeds produced plants and trees of the same kind. And God saw that it was good.
13And evening passed and morning came, marking the third day.
"...These seeds will then produce the plants and trees from which they came..."
If I view these moments, these pauses of time each day as seeds, will they grow 'plants and trees', a garden of quiet in my days?
As someone who attempts to garden, I have many failures. But I have had some success by repeatedly planting those things that I know will seldom fail to grow. Why do I reject those good seeds, those quiet moments, those pauses, that God so generously gives me?
Yet if I accept those seeds and plant them into my life, they will multiply and grow more of those pauses, those moments that are so life-giving.
And that is what happened.
Wouldn't that be wonderful?
