Day 5 Creation by Nathan Greene
20 Then God said, "Let the waters swarm with fish and other life. Let the skies be filled with birds of every kind." 21 So God created sea creatures and every living thing that scurries and swarms in the water, and every sort of bird--each producing offspring of the same kind. And God saw that it was good. 22 Then God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply. Let the fish fill the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
23 And evening passed, and morning came, marking the fifth day.
Children seem to grasp the essence of things better than adults and see the depth of wonder that is inherent in scripture about creation. I recall a conversation with my youngest son, Samuel, when he was young, perhaps about 12 or so.
He was telling me about Moses standing before the sea when Pharoah's army was chasing the Israelites. "And then the sea parted Mama...and just THINK about it! They saw the bottom of the ocean, something no man had ever seen!"
Each year scientists discover upwards of 18,000 new species of living things: organisms, plants, fish, creatures. Imagine that. God created them all and we are still discovering the wonderful variety of all that he created.
Every single time I make the decision to step outdoors or closely observe nature, or I hold a grandbaby, I've felt that immediate stillness that comes with awe for what God has done. I want to remember that one of the most important things I do each day should be to take time to be in awe of this world God created. A world he created with me, and you, and our children, in mind, all these generations away from the moment he stopped and brooded over the waters.

Lovely post Terri. It reminded me of this fascinating video I've watched several times about Ron Wyatt and his three very well documented discoveries, including the place where the Good Lord helped Moses and the Israelites cross the Red Sea.
Much Love,
Tracey
